Xbox 360 Fever - Getting your hands on an Xbox 360

When the Xbox 360 hit the marketplace around Christmas time 2005, a rush of people were hitting every store to try and get their hands on one. But this proved to be a very difficult. There were thousands of people all over the country camping outside of stores for days in order to ensure that they would give first pick at the new Xbox 360. So if you were not one of these people you were going to have a very difficult time finding what you were looking for. At this point you were left with a couple of options; both of them being very expensive alternatives.

First off, in order to find an Xbox 360 a lot of people turned to eBay. And don’t think that people didn’t know it.  Anybody who had an Xbox 360 that they were trying to unload put it up for sale on eBay. These units were one of the top sellers on the auction site during the Christmas season.  People were paying close to $1,000 for a single unit, and the people selling them were turning huge profits.

If you did not want to search eBay for an Xbox your other alternative was checking the classified ads. And again, you had plenty of choices. But buying from a classified ad did not mean that you would not have to pay a lot of money for a new Xbox. The people selling through classified ads were asking just as much for these units as the people on eBay.

If you were one of the unlucky people who missed out on getting an Xbox at the store, you could have ended up having to pay a huge markup in order to get your hands on one. It is safe to say that supply was low and demand was high for the Xbox.
